04.03.2008 Vermont Stage begins rehearsal of King Lear. Vermont Stage Company has begun rehearsing Shakespeare's King Lear in Bluewater Center's large meeting room. The production will appear in FlynnSpace from April 23 – May 4, 2008. This, the Bard's greatest tragedy, an epic tale of loss, betrayal, madness, and the redemptive power of love, is surely one of the most explosive plays ever written. Starring Donald Grody (Copenhagen) as the mad king, Andrew Sellon as Lear’s Fool (I Am My Own Wife, The Foreigner) and featuring original live music, this production will bring Lear to life in a vibrant and visceral new way. When Vermont Stage brings that energy into the close confines of FlynnSpace, you can be sure you'll be in for one of the most exciting theatrical experiences of the season.
